Roles and Expectations

 

Peer Mentor Peer Mentee
 Commit to at least one semester (Fall 2024) as   Peer Mentor and regular meetings with your   mentee at least twice a month. Commit to one semester as a Mentee (starting Fall 2024) and biweekly (twice a month) meetings with your mentor.
Attend a required mentor orientation via Zoom and monthly check-ins (online for now). Check in with the ESSC Peer Mentorship team minimally once a semester.
Check in with your mentee/s via Zoom or additional check-ins can be made through e-mail, phone call, social media, or text. Check in with your mentor via Zoom or additional check-ins can be made through e-mail, phone call, social media, or text.
Provide continued support and guidance to mentees, directing them to appropriate resources as necessary. Be open and willing to collaborate with your mentor and the ESSC Advisory Team in support of your goals.

Encouraged participation in other program events such as Spartan Engineer Welcome. We encourage participation in other programs held by the ESSC and College of Engineering.
Provide constructive feedback –your feedback plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall mentorship experience all mentors and mentees Provide feedback on your experience as a mentee for the ESSC Peer Mentorship Program.
Who can apply to be a Graduate Peer Mentor?
Graduate College of Engineering students (international or U.S.) in good academic standing (3.0 GPA or higher) with at least 1 semester completed at 91ÁÔÆæ.

Who can apply to be a Mentee?
All incoming students / 2nd semester Graduate College of Engineering students.
