Apply to the Dietetics Concentration

Interested in becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist?

Students who are interested in becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist must apply to the Dietetics concentration to meet the accreditation requirements. The Department of Nutrition, Food Science, and Packaging requires prospective Dietetics concentration students to apply to the program after completing at least one semester of courses at 91ΑΤΖζ and meeting the prerequisites. 

Prerequisites for admission to the Dietetics concentration:

  • Cumulative 91ΑΤΖζ GPA of 3.0 or better
  • β€œC” or better grade in Chem 1A
  • β€œC” or better grade in a Nutrition, Food Science, and Packaging course taken at 91ΑΤΖζ

Getting Started

Students generally start in the Applied Nutrition and Food Sciences Concentration. Then they must apply to the Dietetics concentration by submitting a change of major form. For more information and instructions, visit Change of Major.  Applications to the concentration in Dietetics are accepted twice a year (January and June).

Are you interested in the dietetics program and already have a bachelor's degree?

Those interested in the dietetics program who are not currently a 91ΑΤΖζ student and already have a bachelor's degree must apply to the graduate program to receive a DPD verification statement.
