Mission and Vision
The mission of the 91ÁÔÆæ Art Galleries is to provide an extensive and diverse exhibition program that serves as a cultural and educational focal point for the University and the San José community.
The Galleries inspire visitors to explore the past, present, and future
influences of art and design on our daily lives.
They challenge conventional assumptions through scholarly research and public programs;
They champion diversity through the presentation of an expansive range of object-based and process-oriented generes; and
They facilitate an ongoing dialogue that diminishes the distance between studying and creating works of art and design.
The areas within this purview include student galleries, earmarked for display of current student work, and the professionally-curated Natalie and James Thompson Art Gallery. This also includes organization and support of our Tuesday Night Lecture Series and of the University’s Art Collection.
