New 4 port glovebox from Inert Technologies; fully automated with all chemical capabilities.
Constructed!: Total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) microscope based on a Zeiss S100 TV base, Andor EMCCD camera, Quantum Laser fiber coupled light sources and mechanical stage. An Attoarc light source is also available for dye-based fluorescence microscopy. The Andor DV860 EMCCD camera () is a single photon detection camera especially designed for fast data acquisition and quantitative analysis. This microscope will be designed to excite the nitrogen vacancy center hosted in diamond, an ultrastable infrared emitter capable of magentic and electric field detection ().
Zeiss CSM 700: High resolution scanning confocal microscope with 20 nm spatial resolution along
the z-axis. Has a depth of field only comparable with that of a scanning electron
microscope. Versatile for confirming thin film deposition, ligand exchange chemistry
and morphology of nanomaterials.
The Malvern Zetasizer Nano S is the system of choice where the highest sensitivity and widest size range is required. It has the same sizing capability as the top of the range Zetasizer Nano ZS. It is a particle size analyzer for the enhanced detection of aggregates, measurement of small or dilute samples, or samples at high concentration, plus a molecular weight analyzer for molecular size and molecular weight measurement. Static light scattering measurements enable determination of the second virial coefficient for macromolecule solubility tests.
The Thermo Scientific Nicolet 6700 spectrometer is the industry standard for performance and sampling options, making it a powerful component of any laboratory. The base systems are optimized for mid-IR performance; many options provide superb performance from the far-IR to near-IR and visible ranges. The Nicolet 6700 incorporates extensive capabilities for handling optical filters, polarizers and mirrors for specific applications through the OMNIC Software suite. Our Thermo Nicolet 6700 FTIR is outfitted with two light sources (IR and white light) and two detectors (DTGS and MCT) for a spectral bandwidth from 400-11700 cm-1.
The Fluorolog®-3 is a unique, modular system which allows the researcher to interchange a versatile range of accessories to correspond perfectly with the characteristics of a given sample. From analysis of steady-state or molecular dynamics to IR probes.
Photoelectrochemical (PEC) and photovoltaic (PV) workstation. Includes a CHInstruments 630D potentiostat, Oriel 300W Hg light source and Oriel monochromator. The 630D is capable of picoamp detection and the Faraday Booster cage (pictured here) can enhance weak currents without RF interference. Cyclic voltametry and action spectra can be collected with this instrument to characterize both PEC cells and PV cells based on 3-electrode and 2-electrode configurations, respectively.
Lindberg Blue Custom Tube Furnace (model #STF55346C-1) with MKS Flow Controllers for
gas phase chemistry from 25C-1100C. Gas phase chemistry can be performed with inert
and reactive gases present. MKS mass flow controllers and a MKS 946 Pressure controller
allows for 1 sccm to 1000 sccm flow control. Purging of a 2" quartz is monitorred
with Pirani guages and thermocouple guages.
Sorvall RC-5B is an ultra-high speed floor centrifuge capable of 40,000 RCF with 40
mL centrifuge tubes. Centrifugation can be performed from a range of -20C to 40C and
multiple rotors are available based on container size and RCF required.
Anatech Hummer 6.2 Gold deposition system and plasma etcher. Convenient deposition system for thin gold films, substrate etching and preparation of electron microscopy samples. ()
