Bio

I am an associate professor at the School of Information Systems and Technology in the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business at San Jose State University (91ÁÔÆæ). I currently lead the multi-university sponsored by National Science Foundation. My research interests include emerging technology education, human-AI interaction, computer supported collaborative work, and health informatics.

Moving to 91ÁÔÆæ, I am shifting my focus to creating the environment to engage undergraduate education, research and creative activities. Examples include creating technological tools to make education and career counseling more accessible, and empowering students to use technology and design thinking to create new startups that address important social issues, such as homelessness, traffic, affordable housing, food insecurity. They never failed to amaze me with their empathy, creativity, and hardwork.

NatureLake Geneva

I meditate, practice and teach yoga, love nature, and enjoy learning languages -- human languages as well as computer languages -- as a way to better understand the "personalities" of people and technology. Below is a list of languages that I learned in the past (though I'm not sure I'm still keeping the same level since mastering a languge requires constant practice).

Human languages: Chinese (native) | English (fluent) | Spanish (Workspace Level A1, 2017) | French (Oral Communication Level A1, 2005, 2014) | Finnish (Level 1B, 2009) | German (basic, 2008, 2012)

Computer languages: Jave, C, C++, Python, HTML, Javascript, PHP, Assembly
