Admission Requirements
Fall 2025 admitted students must accept their admission if they plan to enroll by (1) saying ‘yes’ through Intent to Enroll and (2) paying a $200 non refundable (and non transferable) enrollment deposit by June 1, 2025 in order to register for Fall 2025 classes. The $200 enrollment deposit will be applied towards your tuition and fees once you enroll in Fall 2025 classes. The admission requirements for the Audiology doctoral program are provided in EO 1112, Article 2, Admissions.
They are as follows:
- Completion of a baccalaureate degree earned at an institution accredited by a regional accrediting association, or an equivalent academic preparation as determined by the appropriate campus authority (i.e., Graduate Admissions and Program Evaluation [GAPE]);
- An overall GPA of 3.0 or better in all undergraduate and graduate coursework;
- Completion of prerequisite courses in:
- Hearing/Speech science
- Phonetics
- Language development
- Neurology and neurophysiology of communication;
- Introduction to audiology
- Deaf studies/ASL (optional)
- Anatomy & physiology of speech and hearing mechanisms
- One course in each of the following areas:
- biological sciences;
- physical sciences;
- social/behavioral sciences; and
- statistics
4. An applicant-authored statement of purpose reflecting a commitment to audiology, including the applicant’s preparation for training in this profession, aptitude and motivation, commitment to working with diverse populations and the basis for interest in audiology and specifically, the 91ÁÔÆæ program of study;
5. Three letters of recommendation
6. Resume
7. Documentation of 20 hours of observation in an audiology clinic or private practice.
8. Completion of an interview, if selected for an interview.
The application portals open on October 1, 2024. Applications will be accepted through January 15th, 2025.
Note: Students in the process of obtaining prerequisite courses or clinical hours may be accepted conditionally with verification of completion of these requirements at least one month before the start of the Fall 2025 semester.

Applicants must also submit their official transcripts. All mailed transcripts must be sealed and unopened to be accepted as official documents. If your university offers electronic transcripts, 91ÁÔÆæ will also accept this method of delivery.
Note: If you are a current 91ÁÔÆæ undergraduate student, you are not required to submit 91ÁÔÆæ transcripts with your Cal State Apply application, but you will be required to submit them to CSDCAS.

In your CSDCAS application, applicants will need to include the observation form documenting their 20 hours of observation completed in an audiological clinic or private practice. Applicants will need to download the clinical observation hours form, complete the form, obtain the required signatures, and submit it in the Documents section of your CSDCAS application.
All components in the document need to be completed for your application to be reviewed.
