Admission Requirements

  • Graduate applicants must meet both the minimum 91ÁÔÆæ Eligibility requirements AND the graduate degree program requirements set forth by our individual programs to be considered for admission
  • Applicants must meet the degree program requirements set forth by the individual programs.
  • International students must satisfy the English language proficiency requirement unless exempt.
  • Graduate applications will be reviewed for eligibility by the Graduate Admissions and Program Evaluation (GAPE) office before being referred out to the individual program departments for admission review. Admission decisions will be at the discretion of each and every department.

  • To apply, create an account and submit an online application on , and pay the $70 fee.

The majority of applicants will need to submit the following documents by the document deadline to complete their application before it can be reviewed for admission. Some will have more or fewer documents to submit, depending on the actual program they apply for and their residency status. Please visit the program website to confirm program-specific requirements and documents

  • An international evaluation of all undergraduate and graduate coursework taken outside of the U.S. and Canada
  • English language proficiency test scores
  • Graduate exam scores (GMAT/GRE), if required by the program
  • Program-specific documents (SOP/LOR), if any
  • Financial documents 
  • Copy of passport

How to Submit Required Documents

  • Academic records
    • For coursework taken outside of the U.S. and Canada, an international evaluation of at least 7 semester transcripts must be submitted. 91ÁÔÆæ accepts evaluations from WES, ACEI or ECE. An evaluation report will be sent directly to 91ÁÔÆæ by the evaluation agency upon its completion.
    • For coursework completed in the U.S. or Canada, official transcripts can be emailed to etranscript@sjsu.edu or sent to the following address

  • Test scores: Official test scores (English, GMAT/GRE) must be electronically sent to 91ÁÔÆæ by the testing administrator.
  • Program-specific supplemental documents: follow program instructions
  • Financial documents and passport: As part of the application process for international applicants (i.e. those seeking F-1 status), you must submit a declaration of finance form along with the supporting financial documents. Upload your documents through
