Volunteer at Black Grad
We need your help!
Make a BIG impact on our graduating students and their guests by joining the Black Grad volunteer Crew! We need your help to make this year's ceremony an incredible experience for all who attend. Faculty are also invited to participate as a Faculty Marshal to help students cross the stage during their ceremony.
Please see the areas below where volunteers are needed:
- Pre Celebration Photo Shoot: Sunday, 04/14/24 @ 9:00am
- Ceremony/Reception: Tuesday, 05/21/24 @ 3:00pm
To sign up, view the list of available opportunities on the SignUpGenius form and enter your information into an open shift. If your schedule changes, please adjust directly on this website to open the space for other potential volunteers. We will follow up with important volunteer details as the event dates get closer.
How To Sign Up

- Friday, April 5th @ 5:00pm for the photo shoot
- Friday, May 10th @ 5:00pm for the day of ceremony/reception.

Event Parking
Faculty and staff may use their existing parking permit to park on campus during the
ceremonies. If you do not have a parking permit, event parking permits will be available
for purchase.

Additional Details
Balck Grad Crew members will receive training, reserved seating, and an invitation
to attend the post ceremony reception. Breaks will also be provided.
* Shift times may vary slightly from the posted times, depending on your role and the needs for each ceremony. Thank you for your support and understanding.
** All staff (CSUEU/MPP) must obtain approval from their appropriate administrator before completing the Commencement Staffing Form. Please note: Non-exempt employees are eligible for overtime compensation or Compensatory Time Off (CTO) for hours worked over 40 hours in the work week. Faculty are not required to have appropriate administrator approval.
Event Venue
The Provident Credit Union Event Center is an accessible building on campus. Students and guests with ADA accessibility needs will enter through the designated entrance on the ground floor of the venue. ADA accessible seating will be available inside of the venue.
