Program Director

Vivian K. Wong, PhD, RN, CNS, CWON, CFCN is currently a professor at TVFSON. She worked as a med-surg nurse for a number of years before taking the WOC specialty course. Afterwards, she worked for 10 years as a clinical nurse specialist in both medical-surgical and wound and ostomy nursing. She earned her BSN from the University of Texas at Arlington, her MSN in adult health nursing at the University of Florida, Gainesville, and a PhD in nursing from the University of California, San Francisco. She was a graduate of the Emory University Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Education Program. Her research interest is in pressure ulcer prevention. 

Program Co-director

Charleen Singh, PhD, MSN/Ed, RN, FNP-BC, CWOCN has been in health care for 20 years, her career began with an undergraduate degree in nursing from the University of British Columbia and has continued to include a Masters in Nursing Education, certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner, certification in Wound Ostomy Continence and PhD in Healthcare Services. She has worked across the spectrum of health care and ages. As well she has taught both clinical and theory at the undergraduate and graduate level.

Currently her focus has shifted to supporting the quality of life for individuals with Wound Ostomy or Continence concerns. She practiced at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital and currently works with children and young adults in the acute care setting.  She presents nationally and internationally on issues regarding skin and ostomy.  

Foot and Nail Course Instructor

Gloria Escalona, DNP, RN, PHN, WCC, CFCN, CFCS will be the main instructor of the course. Dr. Escalona earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice at 91ÁÔÆæ/Fresno and has over 40 years of nursing experience, with the past seven years focusing on foot and nail care. She has been in private practice providing mobile foot and wound care to clients in their home or facility, and consultation and education to long term care and community agencies. In addition, she volunteers her services extensively in shelters for low income and people without perminant housing.

Guest Lecturers

Experienced WOC nurses will be invited to guest lecture in their area of expertise.

Clinical Preceptors

Experienced WOC and certified foot care nurses in various clinical settings who meet the WOCN preceptor criteria may serve as clinical preceptors.
