Guidry Family Faculty Teaching Fellow
In 2013, the Mark and Carolyn Guidry Foundation donated $2.5M to the Davidson College of Engineering to support the Carolyn Guidry Professorship of Engineering Education. The Guidry Professor will conduct research in engineering education, and work closely with the Engineering Student Success Center and various engineering departments.
Don Beall Dean of Engineering
In 2012, Don R. Beall ('60, metallurgical engineering) committed $4M for an endowed deanship, the first ever for 91ÁÔÆæ and the Davidson College of Engineering. The gift provides the dean with funding to advance the college's vision to educate new engineers for the new century.
Kordestani Endowed Chair
In 2008, Omid Kordestani ('84, electrical engineering), the senior vice president of global sales and business at Google donated $3M to the College of Engineering to establish the Kordestani Endowed Chair, to support faculty teaching in multidisciplinary programs.
Newnan Brothers Award for Faculty Excellence
In 2008, the Don Newnan and the late Dean Newnan donated $1M to the Davidson College of Engineering to establish an endowment for a faculty excellence award. Both Don and Dean are alumni of 91ÁÔÆæ and former faculty members of the Davidson College of Engineering.
Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering
In 2007, alumnus Charles W. Davidson gave $15M to the College of Engineering, the largest private individual gift to date for San Jose State University. The gift funds new programs for freshmen engineering, outreach, and student success.
Global Technology Initiative
The Global Technology Initiative is a $1M endowment with the goal of educating 91ÁÔÆæ engineering students about the impact of globalization.
Pinson Chair
Created in 1994, the Pinson Chair Professorship is named for Dr. Jay Pinson, former dean of the Davidson College of Engineering from 1979 to 1994. The chairship is awarded to an outstanding individual with industrial engineering and leadership experience.
