General Education Requirements

Following CSU system requirements, San Jose State requires students to take at least 48 semester units of general education courses. 

The General Education Guidelines require that General Education courses be assessed to measure if students are meeting the GE learning outcomes.

General Education Faculty Community

The Director of General Education Dr. Kathleen McSharry, works with departments, course coordinators, and the Academic Senate to oversee and support the GE program.
