Thesis/Project/Research Interest: That Would be the Old Way:Chicana Subjectivity and Ideology in Film
What you are doing now: I am the Service Coordinator and Technology Education Specialist at Palo Alto Housing Corporation/ Film Instructor and Program Coordinator for New Voices for Youth.
I am also working on applying to graduate programs for a Ph.d in Education.
What the MA did for me: The master's degree in MAS has enhanced both by career and educational journey as I have a deeper undertanding of the experiences of people of color in everyday, particularly in youth of color. I have been able to teach my own students to be conscious of the world and become critical thinkkers and contributors of their community. Both as a service coordinator; working with people of different backgrounds and as a digital media instructor, I apply a framework in social justice; which not only makes my work stronger but also rewarding.

Current Projects/Research Interest: Currently I'm in my 4th year at CGU. Trying to balance life of Ph.D. student after finishing coursework prepping for what is next . What inspires me to continue is research on college access, how high school students navigate their academic experiences, which can allow their college enrollment.
What I am doing now: I'm a full time student, but currently for the FALL 2015 semester I am a Graduate Student Researcher (GSR) at Cal State Fullerton for a research project conducting needs assessment for a migrant education program in Orange and San Diego Counties.
