Pragmatic Interviewing (and Beyond)
Abstract
I failed a lot of technical interviews. Amazon once, Facebook twice, Google three times, Tesla once and more that I’ve lost track of. However, I finally got hired by Google as a Software Engineer. Through all my failures I learned what works, what doesn’t and how to focus on what’s important for a technical interview. I’ve attended tech interview workshops at Google and Facebook (led by Gayle Laakmann McDowell, author of Cracking the Coding Interview) and have done a lot of preparation. Tech interviews can be daunting, I’m hoping to make it less intimidating by sharing my experiences.
I’ll also be touching on things beyond the interview. Tips & tools for salary negotiation, how course work relates to production development and preparing for the industry while in school.
