Justice Studies, BS

The undergraduate program in Justice Studies provides students with an interdisciplinary curriculum that engages in critical analysis of justice issues. Core classes focus on theory and empirical research that addresses the relationship between law, justice, the justice system, and society. Electives address a number of more specialized and topical justice-related issues.

Forensic Science, BS

The Forensic Science program at San José State University offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Forensic Chemistry, Forensic Biology, and Digital Evidence for students with a career interest in crime lab work. Students in the Forensic Science major take basic and advanced biology, chemistry, and physics courses to build a strong foundation in the sciences, and complement these with coursework in forensic science applications. The curricula of each major concentration meet the American Academy of Forensic Sciences Forensic Education Program Accreditation standards.

Forensic Studies Minor

The Forensic Studies Minor provides students with formal training without the heavy chemistry and biology course load of the Forensic Science Major.

Human Rights Minor

The Human Rights Minor explores the history and structure of formal human rights and international law, study historical and contemporary human rights struggles, meet and work with Bay Area human rights organizations, and gain experience in a seminar capstone symposium course.
