Minor in Sociology of Education
California's K-12 public school population has undergone a major demographic change in the last decade. Educational policy leaders are concerned with educational equity, graduation rates, attrition, retention, and increasingly segregated schools. Preparation for the changing landscape of K-12 education includes analyzing, assessing, and developing sound policy recommendations to insure that public schools are meeting the needs of the diverse student population. The Sociology of Education minor provides students with the latest research and reports on the status of education on a local, state, and national level.
