*The Study Abroad and Away team will reach out to you to schedule your budget meeting after your proposal is approved and the program cost form is submitted and reviewed. Please note this process can take at least 2 weeks from the time of proposal approval and/or submission of the program cost form (whichever comes later).

^Please note that we are only accepting proposals from returning/existing programs for Winter 2026. If you need an extension to submit your proposal, please contact Study Abroad and Away (spartansabroad@sjsu.edu). Please note that late proposal submissions may impact the timeframe you have to market your program and your ability to run the program.

Interested in developing a domestic Faculty-Led Program that takes place within the U.S. and U.S. territories? The Study Abroad and Away Office is committed to offering a wide range of programming options that meet the needs of various 91ÁÔÆæ students. Contact Study Abroad and Away (spartansabroad@sjsu.edu) if you'd like to discuss developing a domestic program.

Faculty Led Advisory Committee

The 91ÁÔÆæ Faculty-Led Advisory Committee (FLAC) is composed of faculty and staff who have previous experience with international programs and/or have led Faculty-Led Programs. The purpose of the committee is to review and provide feedback to the Director of Study Abroad & Away (SAA) on proposals submitted by faculty to lead Faculty-Led Programs through the Study Abroad and Away office. Committee members lend their expertise to provide a critical, holistic review of proposals and ensure that the programs proposed are adhering to the educational and programmatic standards expected of all Study Abroad and Away programs.
