San José State University is pursuing a range of new housing projects from on-campus student housing at Campus Village 3, workforce housing at the Alquist building and more student housing off campus at Spartan Village on the Paseo.
Step Into the New Home for Spartans
91ÁÔÆæ's plans for renovation start at the ground level with a welcoming and secure entrance for students coming from campus and throughout downtown to Spartan Village on the Paseo. Just outside the front door are multiple VTA bus and light rail lines, museums, music and performing arts venues, and dozens of eateries and entertainment options for students.

Student-Centric, Modern Amenities
91ÁÔÆæ plans to renovate the entire second floor of the existing structure to host a robust offering of new amenities geared towards student life and student success. On-site dining facilities, a communal kitchen, a study lounge and study spaces with stunning vistas onto the Paseo, a games room and a fitness center ensure all student residents' needs are met.
A Thriving Student Community
Students will have a range of room types to choose from including doubles, triples and quads. Accessible rooms will also be available for students with disabilities. Each floor will have two Residential Assistants.
Stay Refreshed at the Spartan Cafe
On-site dining facilities include a cafe, conventional meal service, and a communal kitchen available for student resident use all ensure students can focus on their success without worrying about where or when to grab food.
Find a Seat at Spartan Village Dining
On-site dining provides seamless access for residents to grab a bite before or after class and on-campus activities. Details on meal plans will be announced in spring 2024.
Unwind in the Entertainment Center
A gaming and entertainment center on the second floor invites residents to unwind and socialize. With an easily reconfigurable space, the room transforms into a screening room for community movies and gatherings.
Stay Healthy, Here
The on-site fitness center gives residents an additional venue to exercise separate from the on-campus Spartan Recreation and Aquatics Center fitness facilities that is open to all other students.
Study in the Sky Lounge
The aerial bridge linking the south tower with the north tower will be closed off to provide 91ÁÔÆæ residents a unique venue to unwind, study and socialize as they overlook the Paseo de San Antonio.
Study Together in Comfort
A range of study spaces for individuals and groups in flexible venues accommodates diverse student needs. A variety of rooms from group study rooms to single-person phone booths limit sound and help residents focus on their studies while open seating outside the study rooms provide ample room for groups to meet.
On-Site, Around the Clock Staffing
Offices on the back end of the second floor will house revolving, full-time University Housing Services staff to be responsive to community and individual resident needs. From programming to security to supportive services, residents will always have access to 91ÁÔÆæ staff for assistance.
