International Student and Scholar Services

International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) centralizes immigration advising resources and co-curricular support programming for international students and scholars on campus. Our goal is to serve the needs of our international students and scholars, enhance their experience in the United States, and integrate them into our community, while also contributing to their success during their tenure at 91ÁÔÆæ and beyond.

San José State's is a comprehensive center providing both students and employees with accommodations and services. The AEC works closely with faculty, staff, programs, and departments to deliver services and promote access for students with disabilities in the classroom and throughout the campus.

International Student Health Insurance

The CSU requires all international students to purchase health insurance through the university provider as a condition of registration and continued enrollment.

International Student Scholarships

International students may apply and qualify for merit-based scholarships. Need-based scholarships are part of Financial Aid and are not available to international students.

International Gateways offers academic and TOEFL preparation courses on the San José State University campus to help international students develop the English skills necessary for admission to American colleges and universities.

Transfer Success Pathway

Transfer Success Pathway (TSP) is a program that began with the high school graduating class of 2023 and provides a dual admission opportunity for eligible first-time, first-year students enrolling in California Community Colleges who commit to transferring to a California State University (CSU) within three years. The program is designed to increase access to the CSU for students who have faced academic, financial, or personal hardships that previously prevented them from attending.
