Meet the Lab Director

Doan Thoi is the Equipment Technician for the Mechanical Engineering Department. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Justice Studies from 91ÁÔÆæ and a certificate of achievement in CNC Machine Operation from San Jose City College. Doan has worked for the ME Department for 6 years, and is excited to help provide hands on experience to engineering students in his role as the Machine Shop's new director.

The MSPC provides students with equipment and tools to enable them to fabricate physical artifacts in a safe manner during their program of study in the department. Here, students have to the opportunity to put into practice invaluable skills in design and manufacturing that provide them with a foundation of knowledge and experience to prepare them for their future careers.

Our student chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) hosted an exhibition this in April 2023 to highlight their most recent Human Powered Vehicle design.
