Dear 91ÁÔÆæ Community,
I am pleased to announce the application for 91ÁÔÆæ’s #CaliforniansForAll College Corps is open. The is a historic state level investment in service that reduces college debt for students who serve the community for an academic year. 91ÁÔÆæ undergraduate students who are enrolled full time during the 2024-25 academic year and complete 450 hours of service through the College Corps will receive up to $10,000 to help pay for college.
In a article that featured current 91ÁÔÆæ Fellows, Governor Gavin Newsom said “This little-known program makes him ‘more proud ... than anything’ else he’s done.†The 91ÁÔÆæ College Corps is a statewide leader in Fellow engagement and program completion. Fellows stated:
“I really like regularly serving. School can be pretty stressful sometimes. I've noticed
that showing up to Cyber Spartans or doing my Second Harvest shift left me feeling
refreshed and energized.â€
“The best part has been the amount of skills and friendships that I have gained from
this program, along with the amount of experience I am gaining as well.â€
“I learned a lot about coding with the kids and have learned to appreciate computer
science as something anyone can do.â€
“I have learned to be more present, more nuanced, and more connected to those around
me. I have learned to be a stronger leader, to be more resilient toward adversity,
and to be so much more confident in my ability to make an impact on others.â€
