Confidential (C99) Employees
Annual Review
- Full and part-time permanent University employees designated as Confidential are reviewed annually. Over the past two years we have conducted a 360° performance evaluation of C99 employees using the Qualtrics’ feedback tool. That program is no longer available to us, so we will be reverting to the Confidential Employee Performance Evaluation form which was in place prior to Qualtrics.
- The annual review cycle covers the performance review period of April 1 to March 31 of each year. Annual evaluations should be completed for final submission to performanceevaluation@sjsu.edu no later than 45 days from the end of the evaluation period.
- University Personnel provides annual training and communication for the evaluation process.
Probationary Review
- Employees who are new to the confidential classification are evaluated utilizing the Confidential (C99) Employee Performance Evaluation form [docx] after six months.
- Six-month evaluations should be completed and returned to University Personnel no later than 14 days after the employee’s sixth month of service.
- Reviews at one year of service and thereafter will be conducted through the Confidential Employee Performance Evaluation form. Employees in the Confidential Administrative Support (C99) classification, require a two-year probationary period
